“Hey girl, may the odds be ever in your favor.”

If you had doubts as to whether Ryan Gosling could be applied to every single cultural phenomenon, put them to rest right now. “The Hunger Games” movie comes out today -- or last night if you were one of the crazy few to brave a midnight showing -- and our favorite male actor / not-quite sexiest man alive / Internet meme has something to say about it. Enter the absolutely genius Hunger Games Gosling Tumblr, which you can appreciate regardless of whether you’ve gotten into the whole Katniss-Peeta-Gale craze.

The Tumblr account, which (thanks to 27-year-old Sara T.) popped up yesterday, features photos of Ryan Gosling with messages sure to comfort even the most unwilling tribute. “Hey girl, I know there can only be one winner in this fight to the death and I want it to be you.” Leave it to Ryan to be selfless even in the face of brutal post-apocalyptic tyranny.

I love this.

He was the sexiest in the movie Crazy Stupid Love, but I fell in LOVE with him in the Notebook.

Catch Ryan in his jocky shorts - cant remember if it was Drive or Blue Valentine. He was only on the screen for a second, but enough to know why he is the sexiest man alive. And, after the Notebook, I think you can tell, he's a man with a slow hand....yum...what more could any woman want. A man with a slow hand, and a six pack above and below the belt!

With all of the serious women issues going on in this country today, it's a little disheartening that HP has all this fluff in the Women's section. It's patronizing and it appears that AOL's takeover is definitely influencing and downgrading certain aspects of HP.

"Jim" If you really are a man named Jim, then I find it disheartening that you would come to the women's section and judge the articles here. There are serious articles and fun articles. It's called balance. Ryan Gosling happens to be fun for many women. If that bothers you, perhaps you should cruise the internet somewhere else, where your righteous indignation is more appreciated.

Does it really matter about my gender? HP is a serious political magazine. You can go to hundreds of website for fluff. At this juncture in American politics, it is disheartening for me to see a section that is so obviously dumbed down that it is patronizing to women -- especially given current social events. I am surprised that you would not expect more yourself. And excuse me, but let me use this analogy. If I go to a restaurant for a buffet and all they have is M&M's, Twinkies and marshmallow cream, it is not righteous indignation to expect something more substantive.

women quite frequently will post "ugh she's so plastic" "ugh this is not a REAL woman" on the pages showing celebrity women.

Hypocritical much?

Nope, still doesn't rank with the Hunger Games pick up lines. The best was: "Hi. My name is Haymitch. You should buy me a drink."

I'm just going to come right out and say it: I do not get the appeal of Ryan Gosling.

There, I said it.

I feel so much better now.

that makes two of us. I dont get it. The media sure loves him.
06:05 PM on 03/23/2012
That makes three of us. I was shocked when he was first rated "Sexiest Man Alive". Glad I'm not the only one lol.
09:33 PM on 03/23/2012
I understand and it's your opinion People like me love him for a couple of reasons. He's one of the best actors today that is surprisingly underrated; He played the main character in one of the most poplar chick fliks "The Notebook"; he's amazingly handsome; he's very intelligent; he doesn't conform to the Hollywood ways; and he's very charismatic.

Thank you for your thoughts...cada loco con su tema, as they say--and I have my own favorites who others might not get either. It's a big world, and no accounting for tastes.

:)

I agree... he is surprisingly down to earth, too. When I found out how much he loves his rescue dog, my love was cemented into eternity!
02:12 PM on 03/23/2012
Love it, especially since I pictured Ryan Goseling as Finnick *fingers crossed*
08:55 PM on 04/02/2012
I'm thinking more along the lines of Garrett Hedlund... Although my ideal Finnick Odair is Garrett Hedlund but with Armie Hammer's nose.
But Ryan Goseling... Actually, I don't think I'd really protest that. *casual swoon*
