Color, as can be seen from the video above, play a crucial role in the festivities, the site says.
"Bright colours of gulal and abeer fill the air and people take turns in pouring colour water over each other."

Brilliant that America, & Utah especially has embraced this. All I can add I can add is come to India for Holi, you'd have a whale of a time, as much as you would Diwali, maybe as not as much as when India win the World Cup on their own soil lol.

It doesn't taste good if it gets in your mouth though, the base may be talcum powder. I took part in this with my friends every year for 10-15 years when I was a youngster and nothing happened to me or anyone I know.

A few commenters have seemed to wonder a bit as to whether a Holi celebration filled with mostly non-Hindu non-Indians in Utah is essentially different than Holi celebrations filled with mostly Hindu Indians.
I'm not religious at all -- but I have lots of Hindu friends, and I can tell you: Holi (aka Festival of Colors) *is* super-cool ... and you don't have to be the least bit religious to enjoy it.
Hindus call it "playing Holi" ... and the overall vibe speaks for itself, I'd say ... and, per that video ... everyone and anyone is inherently invited.

I am a Hindu and I like that white people are enjoying this festival. This festival is not about pushing some culture down anyone's throat. Not all religious festivals have to be about religion, culture and god.
I have done this, just more colours and more agressively than white people hehe.
Come, have fun, just respect the temple :)
