Christine McCallum Sentenced To 29 Months For Sex With 13-Year-Old Student

Former Massachusetts teacher Christine McCallum was sentenced to 29 months in prison and 10 years probation for raping and drugging a 13-year-old student.

McCallum, 29, was arrested in January 2009 and convicted of raping the boy up to 300 times over a 21-month period. She pleaded guilty to 12 counts of child rape, one count of drugging a person for sex and one count of providing alcohol to a minor, according to Enterprise.

The former Abington elementary school educator started tutoring her victim and his 11-year-old brother in 2005, FOX 25 reported. After a 20-month period, the two boys started living with McCallum and her husband part-time.

McCallum had sex with the 13 year old for the first time in February 2006, and used alcohol and marijuana to persuade him.

The sexual relationship ended almost two years later when the boy, then 15, became interested in a girl his own age.

In an impact statement, the boy's father described McCallum as "a true predator and a monster" who destroyed his life, WATD-FM reported.

"You put my two sons at grave risk on many occasion with out my knowledge, you gave my kids drugs and alcohol with no regard for their well being, only to fulfill your own selfish needs," the father said in court. "To me you are true predator and a monster."

As would a teen girl with a young male teacher. It doesn't make it any less wrong. However, drugging should have come with some responsibility.

First, how much time should a pedophile get for having sex with a child? Second, how much time should a pedophile get if they are a teacher and the victim is a student. Third, how much time should a pedophile get if they drugged the student first, and then had sex with them? Is 29 months now the punishment for that? I think most people believe Polanski should have received 100 years, and he's not a teacher so he gets 2 of the 3 mulitipliers.

Of course it was......his children were living with a teacher and her husband half the time..... without their parents......kind of hard to stay informed when your letting children stay half the time with nonrelatives...... you expect those people to have your child/rens best interest at heart hmmmmmm........she is a worthless human being though, just not so sure how much better the biological father (or mother, though she's not mentioned) is. Wait. Back up. Hold the phone. Stop. Someone please tell me that I did NOT just read what I think I did. 29 MONTHS for raping a CHILD 300 TIMES?!? Oh. Hell. No. What is going on?! I know they say that white good looking female teachers get off easier, but I don't care if she's the freaking blue-tooth fairy, nothing about her race, looks or anything else should have made a difference when she has abused a child like this. If a man were to do this he'd be locked away forever, be stuck in solitary confinement because even the other prisoners would want to kill him even if the state didn't. And for that matter, if the victim were a grown woman would 29 months be adequate time served as punishment for that many rapes? Never! Also, Shouldn't there be a limit to the number of times you can rape a child before you are never allowed to in the presence of one for the rest of your life? Like, I don't know, 3 times (or preferably 1!?)? And considering the fact that teachers are in a position of trust, shouldn't the mandatory punishment be even worse?

I've spent quite a bit of my education and career working with victims of violent crimes, both male and female. That we live in a society that minimizes boys' experiences with rape and sexual assault because the offender is a "hot older teacher" is just despicable.

What would be the sentence for a man of 29 convicted of having sex with a 13 year-old girl 300 times, having drugged her and given her alcohol? More that 1 month for every 10 charges of rape?

It seems totally inequitable, unless the judge considers that "boys want it" more than girls and are less harmed.

boy am i glad i live in europe where the age of consent is 15 and as long as the student isnt in YOUR class its legal to have sex. I am not a teacher however to make what is NATURAL at the NATURAL age sex occurs illegal is like trying to stop rain snow wind or sunshine..its nature you cant stop it
