Dave Mustaine, Megadeth Frontman And Santorum Supporter, Stage Dives Into Birther Pit

Dave Mustaine

Dave Mustaine of heavy metal band Megadeth is certain that President Obama "was born somewhere else than America," he said during a recent interview with Canadian TV show "The Hour."

Mustaine -- who in February announced his support, but not outright endorsement, for GOP presidential candidate Rick Santorum -- said his political views were driven by a "lesser of two evils" approach. After expressing his "disappointment" with the GOP field apart from Santorum, who he said looked "kinda like a JFK kinda guy," he explained his opposition to Obama.

"I have a lot of questions about him, but certainly not where he was born," Mustaine said. "I know he was born somewhere else than America."

When the host noted that this school of thought placed him in the birther camp, Mustaine disagreed.

"I'm not calling a question to it, I just, you know, it's a point," he continued. "How come he was invisible until he became whatever he was in Illinois?"

The host then pressed Mustaine on his claims, causing the rocker to attempt to change the subject.

"I don't want to talk about my president," Mustaine said, before going on to admit that he was going to "have to do some more homework on where Obama came from."

Good news for the gotp, in the wake of the rushbo "don't play my band's music" controversy.

Maybe the Santorum campaign will pick up "Symphony of Destruction" as their theme song?

No wonder Metallica booted him out of the band.

And for years his fans thought that he had something intelligent to say through his music. He's out of touch with how metal bands might connect politics and their music today. Metallica did well in firing him.

I think this is reflected in the lyrics for most of Th1rt3en's songs. He sounds like Alex Jones on that album.

Dave's just wanting an invite to this years White House Correspondents Dinner:

Let's recall what happened to last year's Birther of the Moment, Donald Trump:

"How come he was invisible until he became whatever he was in Illinois?"

Silly man repeating Trump's ridiculous claims.

Plenty of people from all periods of Obama's early life recall him. Click on blue links:

This man is so bitter about getting kicked out of Metallica, he'll whine about anything to be heard.

We get it Dave. Like millions of other birthers, you don't like black people, especially one in a position of power.

I know quite a few people personally who have given up hard drugs for Jesus and conspiracy theories. I feel a little betrayed by Mustaine having been a fan who for years put up with his constant whining about Metallica. Megachurch is weak. Someone needs to put some smack in his cheerios.
