On the season finale of "19 Kids And Counting" (Tue., 9 p.m. EST on TLC) Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar received the devastating news that no expectant parent ever wants to hear: Michelle had suffered a miscarriage at 17 weeks.
"We can see the little heart there, but it's not moving," said the doctor. "I'm so sorry."
Later, the Duggars held a heartbreaking memorial service for their daughter, named Jubilee Shalom, at which they said their farewells.
Although fans of the show had known about the miscarriage since Michelle announced it back in December, it was still wrenching to watch the family go through it. Zap2It referred to the finale as "heartbreaking," and MonstersAndCritics described it as "incredbly emotional." In an interview with HuffPost Celebrity, Michelle explained her decision to document the miscarriage on the show.
