The spring premiere of "Glee" kicks off on Tuesday, April 10. To honor the return of the New Directions crew, a special episode of Bravo's "Inside The Actors Studio" featuring the "Glee" cast will air the night before (April 9 at 8 p.m. ET).
In the clip below, "The Birth Of Sue Sylvester," the show's creator Ryan Murphy discusses exactly what made Sue (played by Jane Lynch) come alive. "Kevin Riley said, 'You've failed in this script because there's no villain. And that's not like you,'" Murphy says of Fox's entertainment president.
Murphy decided to make Lynch an offer she couldn't refuse: A character described as a woman who "may or may not have posed for Penthouse, but she definitely takes horse estrogen."
In another clip, Murphy admits that a lot of the plot comes from the actors themselves.
"No one's better than Ryan at taking person, looking at them, finding their or the overriding characteristic of them on a physical level, like Matt [Morrison]'s hair," Lynch adds. "Or an emotional level, and we'll read it in the next script. I know when he's mad at somebody -- I can tell by reading the script!"
