Ellen von Unwerth and mass retail isn't a pairing that immediately makes sense as the German photographer and director is best known for provocative imagery that appears in magazines such as Vogue, Interview and i-D.
Von Unwerth's latest endeavor, however, a short film titled "Miami Vixens" created in collaboration with Canadian export Joe Fresh, brings her unique eye to the masses around the world. Of the piece, von Unwerth said, "I told the story about two mischievous girls stranded in an old motel in Miami, who enjoy all kind of adventures." The wild, yet playful exploits include a ménage à trois, burglary and car-jacking. But it's all in good sport, as von Unwerth said she just wanted to make "the clothes look young and fun and a bit eccentric." Mission accomplished.
Does this film make you wish you were on spring break?
