Chicago Area Cats, Dogs & Other Pets Up For Adoption (3/30) (PHOTOS)

Yes, it is that time of the week once more: HuffPost Chicago's weekly profile of some dozen local cats, dogs and other pets up for adoption in the Chicago area.

With spring officially arrived and here to stay, what better time to welcome a new furry friend into your home? In addition to the pets featured below, Gapers Block points out that the Chicago Animal Care and Control is hosting a "Mega-match-athon" adoption event at their 2741 S. Western Ave. facility, from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday. A fine opportunity to help out a homeless pet, indeed.

If this slideshow doesn't satisfy your cute animal fix, be sure to check out past features linked below the gallery either by scrolling down or clicking here. Many of the previously featured animals remain homeless -- those whom we've heard have already been adopted are noted with a "Spoken For!" tag.

Bonnie Lass is a female dilute tortoiseshell and "looks like a cross between David Bowie in the movie Labyrinth, an owl and a puppet," according to a shelter volunteer.
