Hollywood Roundup: Mia Wasikowska Set For 'Madame Bovary'

Mia Wasikowska: Hollywood's go-to young actress for classic literary adaptations. After starring as the title characters in "Jane Eyre" and "Alice in Wonderland," Wasikowska has been cast in the lead role in "Madame Bovary."

The 22-year-old actress will play Emma Bovary in the feature, which is adapted from Gustave Flaubert's classic novel. The new film will focus on the "youthful and contemporary themes" of the novel, reports Variety. "Bovary" follows Emma Bovary, a doctor's wife who has affairs as a way to break out of her mundane lifestyle.

Per Variety, Paul Giamatti is in talks to co-star.
