Sarah Jones Arrested: Bengals Cheerleader, Ex-Teacher Accused Of Having Sex With Student

Before Andy Dalton and A.J. Green arrived in Cincinnati by way of the 2011 NFL Draft, the Bengals had a reputation for having issues off the field thanks to players like Cedric Benson and Jerome Simpson having run-ins with the law. In fact, the Bengals have had more players arrested than any other NFL team since 2000. Although Dalton and Green may represent a new era in the history of the team, the franchise's reputation has been besmirched once again. But this time it's one of the Ben-gals, the team's cheerleading squad, who's in trouble.

Sarah Jones, the captain of the team's cheerleading squad and a former high school teacher in Kentucky, was arrested and indicted on Thursday over allegations of having a sexual relationship with a student, Jim Hannah of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

According to the Enquirer, Jones was indicted for first-degree sexual abuse and unlawful use of electronic means to induce a minor to engage in sexual or other prohibited acts, both of which are felonies that carry sentences of up to five years in prison.

Jones' mother, Cheryl, was also indicted on a charge of tampering with evidence in her daughter's case, another felony that carries up to five years in prison.

The Jones' attorney said both will plead not guilty.

Jones made headlines back in 2010 when she sued the web site TheDirty.com for libel. She claimed that the site suggested that she had two sexually transmitted diseases.

The arrest comes just over a week after fellow Ben-gal Laura Vikmanis released a book entitled "It's Not About the Pom-Poms: How a 40-Year-Old Mom Became the NFL's Oldest Cheerleader" and Found Hope, Joy, and Inspiration Along the Way." A film about the 43-year-old Vikmanis is reportedly in the works but perhaps the alleged crimes and courtroom drama of Jones will steal the spotlight.

This was a vivid and horrific programme in which the victims of sexual abuse by women told disturbing stories of emotional and physical damage:
Rape and attempted murder of a 12 year old boy by a 19 year old girl
Rape and abuse of a 12 year old boy over a two year period by a 28 year old mother of four
Rape and abuse of boys by their mother
Rape and abuse of girls by their mother
Women taking a lead role in pornographic violence and abuse
Children abused by nuns
Children abused at playgroup
Boy abused by lesbians
It was acknowledged that the scale and nature of these attacks had been severely underestimated and there were examples of women using excessive force with implements such as chair legs and cutlery.
A surprising 86% of survivors of sexual abuse were not believed when they said the abuser was a woman.

Many myths were exposed, such as the one that women only sexually abused when coerced by men - they in fact played the lead part. Also the myth that women are incapable of cruelty - what was shown was beyond belief.

But despite the seriousness of these offences, women generally escaped custodial sentences.

There is no physical control or power here being used because no woman could over power a built guy who hits the gym 5 times a week who is 15-18 because it is physically impossible.

For the last time it is not a double standard. When men/women are paid differently for doing the same work THAT is a double standard.

Take a look at this woman. Do you really think whatever horny 16-18 year old kid that slept with her was taken advantage of ... or forced? Do you think they are getting therapy or high fives from everyone they come across

Yeah, it was far from professional. But I can't say this woman is a monster. She just needs to wait until kids are legal.

A double standard is when you pay a guy more than a woman for the same job.

Taking into account the obvious differences between genders is just sense. The fact that this is a young hot female teacher sleepy with some 16-18 year old makes it far less likely that anyone was being taken advantage of.

She obviously can't continue teaching after this but if I were the parent of this kid I'd be angry at her for being a terrible teacher while also wanting to secretly give my kid a high-five.

If the genders were reversed even if the teacher was incrediably attractive, there is still the chance that my daughter was being taken advantage of by a sexual predator. So unless it came out that my kid drugged the man, locked him up and had her way with him, I'm pressing charges.
