Tim Tebow Hits Twitter For 1st Time Since Joining Jets

03/30/12 10:32 AM ET AP

NEW YORK -- It's Twitter Time again for Tim Tebow.

In his first tweets since being traded to the New York Jets last week, the popular backup quarterback writes Thursday night that he's, yep, "excited" to be with his new team and thanks Denver Broncos fans for their support after "an interesting couple of weeks!"

Tebow, who retweeted something on March 11, sent out four tweets and poked fun at himself: "I've already said it 44 times so here goes number 45: I'm really excited to be a Jet! Haha!" Tebow used the word "excited" repeatedly during his 30-minute introductory news conference Monday.

He says he's "anxiously looking forward" to getting to work and vows to "Fireman Ed and the rest of Jets nation" that he'll play his heart out in New York.

Tiresome.

Obviously most of you have never listened to Kerry Collins speak. A little home schooling would be a step up for him. Tim is on Twitter. It is for twits, not intellectuals.

I listened to his press conference(for a back up QB?!?!?!?)

I didn't realize just how stupid he is.

Apparently you've never heard this guy speak before, his vocabulary is so limited. You're taught as a public speaker or in a press conference to keep it simple, but this beats the cake. Many homeschooled children are very limited in their intellectual capacity, at least those homeschooled on a biblical principal, which Tebow obviously was.

Oh. Is THAT it? To me, he sounds like a 7 year old boy of my acquaintance. Same wide-eyed wonder at the world.

Good kid. Good athlete. Can certainly become a good QB, many have with less.
09:53 PM on 03/31/2012
He's 25. He's a grown man. He just sounds like a kid.

Let's be clear on the facts - Tebow lost the last 5/6 games he played and the Broncos BACKED into the playoffs. He is talentless when it comes to NFL effectiveness. It was his SECOND year in the league, he can't throw the football, he's slow, he can't make mechanics adjustments on the fly like other QB's can.

He's a nice kid, and a "good Christian". But he'll never be a productive NFL "asset".

Tebow will "never be a productive NFL "asset"? You may be singing a different song at the end of the season. Ask Pittsburgh how productive he can be. God bless!

Unfortunately for Tebow, this has nothing to do with God.

Never is not a good word to use for Tim Tebow. Anyone who has watched him throughout his career will tell you the guy is an overcomer. When there weren't ways, he made ways. I think your criticism is unfounded as far as the Broncos "backing" into the playoffs. Talentless? I think not. We'll talk again in a few years. k?

You dont have a clue,do you ? Talentless, lets see, he won
2 national championships with Florida ( compare that to all other OBs today).
He won the Heisman Trophy which is very, very "rare air" ( compare that to
all college/pro QBs that ever played )
He ( meaning the only thing that changed in the team) took the 0-4 Broncos
(before he started QB) to the playoffs in his first year ( again rare air,
check your history on first year QBs). If you dont like him,hey its a free world,
but dont talk bull crap, try facts. Mark is a great QB,and I dont think Tebow
will do anything but improve the team.My opinion,we all have them, but
some of us use facts, others bull crap/all mouth.

College is irrelevant in the NFL. I find it so funny that you clueless Tebow fans can't understand that simple concept.

Forget the real Tim Tebow account. Follow the made up ones like Wrath of Tim Tebow. Much funnier and entertaining. Who wants to follow a colossal bore on twitter?

Couldn't agree more. Frankly, I could care what's on the mind of any sports player.....they weren't hired for their wit or writing skills....
