Fantasy Ants

Because we know you'll ask: According to The Telegraph, these ants are real, and yes, they're alive.

Andrey Pavlov, a Moscow-based photographer, spends hours constructing the scenes for these photographs.

"I used to work in theatre which was a big help when it came to making props, and I chose ants because I respect them and their way of life," Pavlov said, according to The Daily Mail. "They care about their children and look after the elderly. They have lived for millions of years."

According to International Business Times, Pavlov doesn't use any digital effects on his photos. He uses a macro lens to take close-up photos of ants in fairytale-like settings, from sewing to "weightlifting."

These enchanting images might look like they come from a f-ant-asy world but they are in fact an extraordinary look at the imaginary ant-ics of the humble ant. The intriguing insects are pictured carrying out a variety of unusual tasks from sewing to weightlifting making the superb scenes look as though theyve been lifted straight from the pages of a fairytale. The marvellous macro images are the handiwork of talented photographer, Andrey Pavlov, who spent hours setting the stunning scenes. But the snapper admitted he didnt have to travel far to find his subjects thanks to an anthill just metres from his house in Moscow, Russia.

"The marvellous macro images are the handiwork of talented photographer, Andrey Pavlov, who spent hours setting the stunning scenes." The only thing "stunning" about these images is that the somehow come to be celebrated in the Huffington Post. Unbelievable.

I'm not an art critic, but how different is this from kitschy pics of Dogs playing cards and kittens in Cabbage Patch sitting around a baby table having tea?

Anthropomorphism is so "two-thousand late, yo!" --as Cartman would say.
