Rick Perry Security During Presidential Bid Topped $1.7 Million

Houston Chronicle:

Travel expenses for Gov. Rick Perry's security detail, which mounted as he pursued his presidential bid, totaled more than $1.7 million for items including airfare, food and lodging, according to figures released Friday by the Texas Department of Public Safety.

I had NO idea that the republicans in the state of Texas LOVED to spend money protecting their fool-of-a-governor. I had no idea the people of Texas were such pathetic sheep as to allow themselves to be ruled by rich white SOB's. I had no idea that Perry, of the humble origins, so feared for his life that he needs to be protected by a bunch of macho rangers, eatin', drinkin' and whorin' their way across the US of A to protect their beloved bully governor.

You know Gov. Perry addressed some of these concerns in his book, Fed Up. Where trends of “runaway entitlement spending” and a “culture of reckless spending” receive particular attention, of course in the book ... he actually rails against them!
