Katy Perry & Selena Gomez Bare Their Bellies At The 2012 Kids' Choice Awards (PHOTOS, POLL)

We've been big fans of cropped tops on the red carpet since Gwyneth Paltrow's daring Pucci ensemble at the 2011 Emmys. But we're undecided about the cropped top's most recent outing at the 2012 Kids' Choice Awards, worn in two very different ways on Selena Gomez and Katy Perry.

The younger popstar and would-be Mrs. Bieber did the sexy look in soft colors with subtle hair and makeup. But Katy, of course, was characteristically bright with neon green and a bluish-purple ponytail pulled so tight we were shocked she could move her face.

The only reason to hate Katy Perry is her music...lol. Oh wait, that's like her entire career choice. But I mean, she's hot, and all these people whining about how she's not dressed "age-appropriately" - whatever, in the next breath you'd say it was too revealing for a teenager. But I do wish she'd go ahead and choose already between being a Jesus freak and a stripper on ecstasy.

And yet Lady Gaga dresses worse and everyone worships her. I don't see the difference, except maybe that I like Katie Perry's music and I think Gaga is a hack who uses bizarre costumes to cover up a lack of talent so severe she has to steal from Madonna.

Geez, this is easy. Selena Gomez by a mile. The colors work on her, and she's got the reasonable body for the outfit. Katy Perry? Total hooters, yes, but the neon colors totally destroy her. She is beautiful in jewel tones (as in the hair dyes), like Kate Beckinsale can be, but the lime/slime/neon green - uh, no. Hurts the eyes.
