Start Over Smart Divorce Expo: Opening Night Party

On Saturday night, HuffPost Divorce hit the opening night party for Start Over Smart: A Modern Divorce Expo, an event that brought together divorcees and divorce professionals from all over the country for a weekend of education and empowerment at New York City's Metropolitan Pavilion.

As party-goers sipped mojitos, nibbled on tray-passed appetizers and mingled with other divorcees -- many of them newly single -- we asked them to answer our signature question: What was the moment you knew your marriage was over? Their responses were as raw, poignant, and heartfelt as ever. Watch our video of the event above.

Those early stages of divorce are a very alienating time. It is beneficial to be able to talk to others who are going through a similar trauma. Perhaps the best part of the expo is that it takes discussion of divorce out of hushed tones and moves it into the pubic eye.
