With the merger looming, and the future of the pod in jeopardy, it all came down to this first season finale of "House of Lies" (Sun., 10 p.m. ET on Showtime). And while it's been Marty's quick thinking and complete lack of ethics that has saved many an account, it was Jeannie who stepped up and saved the day this time. She did this by proving she has no moral high ground to stand on, and she may just be the most Marty-like of all of them.
She took down the Rainmaker after realizing that she was but one of many, many women promised bright futures if they would only sleep with him. And she did so in as public a way as she possibly could. Via a toast.
"I would like to make a toast to some of the women at Galweather, who when they stand with me, will indicate that they are part of a class action lawsuit against MetroCapital's Galweather Group," she said drunkenly. "Most of whom have slept with the Rainmaker. I know I did. Sleep with him."
If that's what she can do drunk, imagine how ruthless she could be sober, if she only accepted that side of her. Fans will have to wait until Season 2 to find out how it all turns out for the gang, but at least the merger is off.
