Okay, they didn't really blow up Boo, who has over 3.8 million Facebook likes, because we're pretty sure Nerdist founder Chris Hardwick doesn't want to be sent to Guantanamo for the rest of his life for the unprecedented crime of "exploding Internet mascots." No, this is a video where Boo bursts into flames and turns into a pile of candy, to the delight of children everywhere.
You can watch a baker's dozen of other Cute Things Exploding videos on Nerdist, including the explosions of a baby seal, a kitten wearing a tiny hat and a sneezing panda.
We're very excited about the ambitious programming announced on the Nerdist Channel. Nerdist was founded by comedian Hardwick as a tech blog with an emphasis on comedy, but has evolved into a veritable multi-media empire that includes an acclaimed podcasting network and now a subscribable YouTube channel.
According to a letter from Hardwick posted on nerdist.com, the first cycle of the YouTube channel will be as follows:
MONDAYS: "All Star Celebrity Bowling with Chris Hardwick"
TUESDAYS: Alternating every other week between "Face to Face with 'Weird Al' Yankovic" and "The Indoor Kids"
WEDNESDAYS: "Comic Book Club"
THURSDAYS: "Ain't It Cool with Harry Knowles"
FRIDAYS: "Weird S#!t From Japan" and classic "Kids in the Hall" episodes with bonus cast interviews
We're also excited about additional shows that will launch later this year, especially a couple starring Neil Patrick Harris and Neil deGrasse Tyson (apparently Hardwick has an affinity for triple-named dudes named Neil).
