Chris Singleton Talks Lottery Tickets: Wizards Rookie Has No Regret Over $10K Lottery Spree

WASHINGTON (AP) — Washington Wizards rookie Chris Singleton says it was worth it to buy $10,000 worth of tickets for last week's Mega Millions lottery, adding it was "either that or blowing it in the clubs."

Singleton didn't win a share of the record-breaking top prize, but he said Monday that he did win some money. He's not sure how much because he hasn't gone through all of his tickets yet.

Singleton raised eyebrows last week when he tweeted: "I'm about to drop 10000 on the lottery and cross my fingers."

He maintains he actually did spend the $10,000 for the lottery that offered a $640 million prize. He says he bought the tickets at various locations because no individual outlet would have been able to print that many at once.

Government obviously needs to take steps to get this guy to pay his "fair share" as he obviously isn't going to do that on his own.

Friggin' one percenters.

A minimum wage earner who spends $10:00 on the lottery will be spending a higher percentage of his or her income than Chris Singleton spending $10,000:00 on the lottery. Its his money. He earned it legally and has the right to spend it anyway he wants. My only beef with him is that he didn't need to send a tweet and broadcast it to the whole world.

Say you make 50k per year and spend 50 bucks on the lottery, that's .001 percent of YOUR salary. Say he makes 10 million a year, and he spent 10,000 on the lottery, that's .001 percent of HIS salary.

So, either we're all equally stewped for wasting our money on the lottery, or we are all dreamers.

Wow. And I guess he didn't win. That really proves just how hard it is to win. It's all luck. Might as buy one ticket, it's as good as getting 10,000.

Wasting any amount of money on a lottery is silly, but 10,000 different tickets does give you 10,000 times the chance of winning as does one ticket. Please brush up on your probability theory.

Who cares what he spends his money on as long as it's legal. At least some of it (supposedly) will go to education.

In 4 years when he is broke and selling/buying drugs in the projects he might regret pissing away that money.
