During Friday's game against the Toronto Raptors, Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade showed off a special addition to his uniform -- a tribute to his nephew, who was recently shot.

Wade had "Praying for Darin" written on his shoe, referring to 20-year-old Darin Johnson, who was shot twice in the leg while inside a grocery store last Thursday.

Tragil told the Tribune that Wade's nephew was just beginning to rehabilitate from his injuries.

Wade's nephew was one of six people wounded last Thursday when two gunmen opened fire inside a store in the 1400 block of West 79th Street. Shawndell Harris, 22, was killed in the shooting.

"I played for him and with him in mind," Wade told the Associated Press last week. "I was 9 years old when he was born. I was an uncle at 9 years old."

"It hurts your heart to think about not only your family but other families going through it. I'm just glad that he's fine and hopefully he recovers," he continued. "You never expect to get a call like that."
