On Tuesday, Nike, the new official supplier of NFL uniforms and apparel (so long, Reebok), revealed the new line of uniforms for all 32 NFL teams, including the San Francisco 49ers.
At a dramatic unveiling--complete with New York fashion show--Nike showed off the new designs. And for San Francisco...virtually nothing has changed.

However, while the overall aesthetic is nearly identical, Nike pointed out that San Francisco's uniform updates were focused on function before fashion on the company's website:
The San Francisco 49ers have chosen to take full innovation in the Nike Elite 51 Uniform including Flywire technology to reduce weight and provide a lockdown fit over the pads. Keeping with their traditional design aesthetic, the uniform has a slight adjustment on the arm stripes creating a horizontal orientation to the field of play. The Nike Elite 51 uniform is completely engineered from the inside out, focusing on creating a system where the baselayer, padding, jersey and pant work in concert. A few of the new innovations include increasing sleeve articulation for better range of motion and integrating new four-way stretch fabrication to provide a streamlined shrink-wrap fit.
The uniforms are lighter overall, and reportedly offer players better mobility. Check out the new designs in the slideshow below, and let us know what you think in the comments section.
