Pope Given Massive Egg Ahead Of Easter Celebrations (VIDEO)

WATCH: Pope Given Massive Easter Egg

With Catholics around the world preparing to celebrate Easter, an Italian chocolate maker Tosca presented Pope Benedict XVI with a giant brightly colored egg Thursday in a Vatican courtyard, reports the Catholic Herald.

At more than six and a half feet high and weighing more than 550 pounds, the ornate egg was decorated with the Pope’s coat of arms in blue and yellow wrapping, notes Sky News.

Instead of indulging in the tasty chocolate delight himself, the pope donated the egg to Casal del Marmo, a juvenile prison in Rome, according to Rome Reports.
