Jon Stewart To Rick Santorum: 'Game's Over"

With Mitt Romney having swept the Wisconsin, Maryland and D.C. primaries, just about everyone can predict that the former Massachusetts governor will be the Republican presidential nominee. Everyone except Rick Santorum, that is.

On Wednesday night's "Daily Show," Jon Stewart used Santorum's recent speech post-primary loses as fuel to mock the candidate's "We're still in the game" attitude. In fact, Santorum used quite a few sports analogies in an attempt to reinvigorate his campaign, insisting it's only "halftime" when all Stewart has to say is, "Game's over, dude."

"This isn't the scene in the sports drama where the coach gives the inspiring speech and the team comes back to win the playoffs," Stewart explained. "This is the scene in the sports drama where Hilary Swank hits her head on a stool and never boxes again."

When sports movie dialogue didn't do the trick, Santorum took the Republican fail-safe option and started comparing himself to Ronald Reagan. The inspiring-yet-baffling analogy lead Stewart to believe that Santorum's playing the long game and actually running for President in 2016. When Santorum starts comparing himself to George Washington, things really start to get confusing.

Watch Stewart's full breakdown of Santorum's flailing campaign above.
