Kim Adler Missing: Decomposing Body Found Could Be Remains Of New Jersey Girl

Cleaning Service Finds Decomposing Body Of Young Girl In Beach-Area Home

A decomposing body discovered by a cleaning service in New Jersey could belong to a missing girl, community members say.

On Tuesday, cleaners were tending to the crawlspace of a beach-area bungalow in Keansburg -- the former home of missing teenager Kim Adler -- when they found the corpse.

“We have not made a determination of identity or gender, nor a cause or manner of death,” Monmouth County Prosecutor Peter E. Warshaw Jr. told the Asbury Park Press on Wednesday.

Authorities with the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office, police force and the medical examiner all responded to the call, showing up at the home at 45A Campview Place at approximately 1 p.m.

Joe Maier, who rented the home until about five months ago, said that the home suffered from a foul odor.

"There were always gnats and everything, always a bad stench. We thought it was the plumbing because it was the bathroom," Maier told ABC-7.

The home was once owned by the Adler's father, and the family's history with the home has the community talking, according to the local television station.

The remains are now being prepared for an autopsy and further testing by the medical examiner.

Kim Adler disappeared several years ago, according to the Asbury Park Press.
