Salma Hayek's new Burger King commercial may leave the Spanish-speaking audience salivating for a burger very soon.
Burger King's recently revealed its largest menu shake-up ever, with McDonald’s-esque garden salads, snack wraps, real fruit smoothies and frappés, reports the L.A. Times.
According to the L.A. Times, Salma Hayek is one of the stars of Burger King's new ad campaign. The chain, which is in the middle of a major revamp, said it will re-list shares on the NYSE within three months.
Sometimes life has a way of coming full circle.
Back in 1988, a younger Salma Hayek shot her first commercial: Burger Boy, a Mexican burger chain no longer in business. She has sure come a long way since her red cape heyday (see video below), according to Guanabee.com. In Burger Boy's commercial, she plays Little Red Riding Hood and sings about taking her grandmother out for a bite.

In Burger King's commercial, she plays an overworked mother, a sexy seductress, and what looks like a geeky Chilindrina look-alike.
Chances are the Latino audience won't be able to pinpoint the inspiration behind the "geeky" look Hayek is sporting. Is the former executive producer of "Ugly Betty" paying homage to "Betty La Fea"? Or is this look more reminiscent of Chilindrina? You decide.
In addition to Salma Hayek, Burger King has also recruited Modern Family's Sofia Vergara for a commercial for Spanish-market ads, reports The Baltimore Sun. Stay tuned!
