Chicago Area Cats, Dogs & 'Easter Bunnies' Up For Adoption (4/6) (PHOTOS)

With Easter weekend approaching, what better opportunity to give local rescue rabbits headliner status in this week's local adoptable animals feature?

This week, we're featuring four lovely rabbits among an extra-large, extra-special selection of Chicago-area pets that are in need of forever homes and are currently being watched over by a number of animal shelters who have partnered with HuffPost Chicago on this venture. Joining the featured rabbits are, of course, a number of lovely other furry friends, so we hope that any "leporiphobic" readers out there won't be too startled.

We're also happy to announce this week that the fantastic shelter PAWS Chicago has joined in on our weekly feature. Check out Justice and Camet in the slideshow.

If this slideshow doesn't satisfy your cute animal fix, be sure to check out past features linked below the gallery either by scrolling down or clicking here. Many of the previously featured animals remain homeless -- those whom we've heard have already been adopted are noted with a "Spoken For!" tag.
