Nicole Kidman may have another Oscar in her future. The actress is in talks to play Grace Kelly in the new film "Grace of Monaco," which is already being compared to "The King's Speech."

Part of that is because the film is not a biopic. "Grace" will focus on an eleven-month period in Kelly's life, when the Princess of Monaco helped stop a coup in the city-state over Monaco's status as a French tax haven.

Oliver Dahan will direct "Grace of Monaco," which is also good news for Kidman's Oscar hopes; Dahan was behind "La Vie en Rose," which won Marion Cotillard the Best Actress trophy in 2008.

This is a busy time for Kidman after a slow 2011 that saw her co-star in the little seen "Trespass" with Nicolas Cage as well as "Just Go With It" with Adam Sandler. She'll next appear in "Hemingway & Gellhorn," an HBO movie where she stars opposite Clive Owen. Kidman also filmed "The Paperboy" (Lee Daniels' "Precious" follow-up) and "Stoker" (famed South Korean director Chan-wook Park's American debut), and is about to start work on "The Railway Man" with Colin Firth. For that film, she replaced fellow Oscar winner Rachel Weisz.

Kelly -- an Oscar-winning actress as well, and Alfred Hitchcock's most famous muse -- married Prince Rainier of Monaco in 1956. She died in 1982 after suffering a stroke while driving. As THR notes, almost 100 million people watched her funeral around the world.
