Baltimore Tourist Robbed, Beaten On St. Patrick's Day, As Attack Caught On Camera (VIDEO)

Video of a tourist being beaten, robbed and stripped naked in Baltimore has surfaced on the Web, and police are hoping to use the clip to make arrests in the case.

The incident occurred on St. Patrick's Day, after the reportedly disoriented victim was returning from a night of partying, CBS Baltimore reports. A bystander captured the attack on camera and later posted it online.

A group of people took the man's belongings, as onlookers laughed and pointed. It appears the man attempted to retrieve his items when he was punched and subsequently stripped naked while lying on the pavement.

The victim found his way back to his hotel room, where he awoke the following morning with bruises and cuts but with no recollection of the previous night's events, the Baltimore Sun reports. He reported an assault and robbery, but could not provide police with details of the events.

A family member later came across video of the attack online and told the victim, CBS Baltimore reports.

The clip was also posted on Twitter, where the male who punched the victim said it was self defense, according to the Baltimore Sun.

Authorities haven't made any arrests but have received tips about the identity of one of the attackers.

Earlier this year, seven Chicago teens were charged in connection with a vicious attack on a 17-year-old student behind an elementary school. The incident was captured on video and posted on YouTube. The clip helped police identify the alleged attackers.

And why did the DA/police drop some charges today against Parsons? He is the one who orchestrated the whole thing. He stole the iphone, he attacked without provocation. Is it because he can afford an expensive attorney?
What's wrong with the Baltimore Mayor? The crime is outrages there. Do something about it. In NYC you can find 2 policemen on each corner. They are on horses, bikes, cars & on foot. If Baltimore's Mayor cannot pay for more police force, (she has no problem spending money doing unnecessary renovations) she should bring in the armed forces and stop the violence.

I still believe in being able to walk at night without being attacked. Done it in many cities and never had a problem. Why is Baltimore so violent?

2 suspects have been arrested. One of them has a $750,000 bail so she'll be in there. And the "videographer" is even being charged. Anyway, I think they're still looking for 2 people. They are really close.

That tape is sickening. But my question is: why was an Arlington man in Baltimore walking by himself? I'm in Baltimore and I don't do that...of all places? You never walk alone---ever! But I'm glad they found the people and a warrant is out for 2 more. They'll catch them.

Why shouldn't we be able to walk at night? He was not walking in a dark alley, he was walking in an lighted area in front of the court house and near the central police station. The question is how come there is never any police presence in crowded area in Baltimore. Where are the cops? probably at the 7/11 having donuts. Why didn't the police respond to 911 calls about the attack? what is Baltimore's inadequate Mayor doing about it? hiding her head in the sand?
In Amsterdam, New York, Paris, London, Tel-Aviv I can walk at 2 am and no one will attack me. If someone falls the people around will help him get up, not attack him. Baltimore needs the National Guard to patrol the city which will cut the crime rate.

First, it's Baltimore! Never in my life have I walked alone. Granted, I'm a girl, but my brothers from time to time do it. They're w/family or friends 99.9% of the time. You can't assume you'll be safe because the area is well-lit...

So you think court houses & police stations stop crimes? Plenty of people have been killed near them & some in front of them. There are always police, but are they doing their job...and you're right, they're always at 7-11, which are normally crime zones, so they're doing something.

Our mayor is just like all mayors in the US. Not better, not worse. Name calling is not necessary.

The National Guard? Just like people shoot & kill police, do you think they fear them because they have bigger guns? They can't do a thing in Baltimore. The children (boys & girls) are off the hook too & will kill a grown man just because.

Lastly, it's just really crazy to walk alone during dark hours in any city. I fear no one, but you wouldn't catch me walking in "Amsterdam, New York, Paris, London or Tel-Aviv" by myself at night. It's smart & not naive. If I'm not from there, I don't assume the people are nice just because you say so. Again, I don't even walk in my own city by myself at night. It's the smart thing to do. Have a cab waiting if you want to go out, but never walk alone.

When I lived in bmore it was the groups/gangs of kids that scared the hell out of me. I was talking to an off duty officer about it one day and he said "why do you think we ride in pairs?" I think it would be a much nicer place if the republic of Maryland wasn't so anti-gun. The criminals don't seem to mind much though...

This video disgusts me. As a 22 year old African American male who lives just outside Baltimore, these attackers all need to be sent to jail for many years. This guy was doing absolutely nothing wrong, is drunk, and is basically helpless. What do these guys do? Rob this helpless guy and when he stumbles in the direction of the person who robbed him, the guy cocks back and hits the unsuspecting man. This makes me sick.

I hear you JC. That's how the criminals are though, basically cowards. They look for the people who can't defend themselves. If you're just outside of Baltimore watch out for the county police. They act worse than most of the thugs in the city in my opinion. Never had problems with the city police though. I think they already have too much on their plate!

Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton help people when they ask. They don't just show up helping people. Big misconception that many Americans believe. Al has said this hundreds of times, so reach out to them and they'll come. I don't think this man needs them, know why? Because the perpetrators have been arrested. Two of them are currently in jail and 2 have warrants on their heads...this case is on it's way.

No sane person blames the entire African American community. I come from an aea where it is the lower-natured whites who cause the problems -- but their percentage of the white population is quite small. Within the AfrAm community, one-third of the males have felony convictions and it is extremely dangerous to get lost and end up in one of the AfrAm sections of a city where the violence is perpetual. As in Africa, most violence perpetrated against blacks comes from blacks.

My sympathies are with the victim, and shame on the p@ssy @ss lames that did that to him. However, it should be said that walking around pissy drunk with 2K worth of jewelry and electronics on you will make you a mark in any poor neighborhood, White or Black. I'm not blaming the victim, but you have to know your surroundings.

For those of you trying to make this a 'Hate Crime' issue, the perp said he was going to take his money. This was a mugging and a sexual assault. It was not based on race so stop trying to be divisive.

As a young black guy, I know to be aware of my surroundings at all times but especially in inner city black areas as well as poor white areas also. No specific race matters. I would feel as threatened in a PWT environment, a hispanic ghetto, or in a inner black city environment. Don't try to just pin it all on blacks. Crime spans all races.
