Lena Horne was so beautiful.... but she is wearing a straw hat and a fur. I'm not saying it doesn't work... it works ok, but she is so elegant that I'd have loved to see he wearing a hat with a huge plume in it, first.

I rarely ever saw the men in my family in jeans. I look back and can't believe it. One aunt I never saw in jeans, ever. We found some old pictures of her with jeans on...we couldn't believe it.

It was nice to see John H. Johnson's daughter, Linda, in the last pic. I forgot she used to model for the magazine on occasion.
It was a nice pictorial but it is very indicative of the color issues that existed in the black community back then and continue to this day. Ebony has gotten better about that.

Reminds me of Easter Sunday at our church. Seemed as if most of the women wore hats trying to out-do each other. Lol...it was all good. Some where just beautiful and some where too much hat. The more extravagant the better I guess.
