Whitney Houston Bobbi Kristina Brown

Since news broke of a possible Whitney Houston biopic in the works, a string of celebrities including Jennifer Hudson, Meagan Good, and Rihanna have all expressed their interest in portraying the late Pop star. And now fans can add Houston’s daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown to the growing list of actors lining up for the role.

A source tells TMZ, the 19-year-old feels that she is qualified enough to take on the powerhouse role due to her close relationship with the singer and added if Eazy-E’s son could play his father in a movie, she could also play her mother.

In recent weeks it has been announced that Brown will also make her acting debut this summer in a reoccurring role on Tyler Perry’s hit TBS sitcom ā€œFor Better or Worseā€ as the daughter of a hair stylist.

The hit series is inspired off of Perry’s 2007 film ā€œWhy Did I Get Married?ā€ and ā€œWhy Did I Get Married Too?ā€

...She is not mature enough or to have the general life experience to play this role...can we get a wise person to explain that to her...?
01:00 PM on 04/22/2012
Not that I believe rumors, but if she wants to play her mother in a movie she is going to have to produce it herself. She is the splitting image of her father not her mother. Its also not a good idea psychologically because her mother's drug use needs to be portrayed for it to be credible, and the last thing she needs to be doing is spending time acting like she is doing drugs. BK probably has some talent (it runs in her family) its gonna need to be nurtured though. She also needs to find some good people to guide her career. I don't trust her aunt, uncle, that Brother Lover of hers (or anyone else that was enabling Whitney Houston)The best things she can do right now are (1) go to school - take voice lessons/acting lessons/learn about addiction and how to control it; (2) find out who she is - go see the world, travel, a journey of self discovery, she has to develop her own identity apart from her mother; (3) go to therapy - whether she has addiction issues or not, she went through a traumatic situation and needs to be properly treated for that. I empathize with her situation, but she has to make RESPONSIBLE choices about her life. I've seen young people face worst with less resources and make it. I will continue to pray the same thing for BK.

Bobbi Kristina wanting to portray her mom if a "Whitney Houston Biopic" is made doesn't mean she will the part. Right now it appears that she is trying her hand in the entertaiment business and have an awful lot to learn.

No one really know what Bobbi Kristina talents are since she was more or less kept under her mother's wing. Yet, she is willing to follow her dream. There are a lot of talented actors out of work, who audition on a frequent basis and still the parts are given to some other actors. Bobbi Kristina will learn this as she develops into the person she wants to be.

Movie producers, film makers, and those that finance these projects look for the bottom line (who will make them the most money) and not sentiment. She should really consider her participation, if asked, to be that of a consultant.

In all fairness, I think people should cut her some slack. She is "trying" doing something "postive.": She is young, willing to grow and stay focus in a positie way.

no one cares. stop reporting this non-news item.

Then again, maybe she'd realize she is on the same path as her mom and addiction. maybe it would wake her up. She's already been in the headlines a bit as a user.
05:54 PM on 04/11/2012
Uses all kinds of drugs, just like her mom! She could play the part that well!
03:59 PM on 04/11/2012
WOW!! some of you were a lattle harsh on BK. However, I have to agree with the ones who posted that she is not a good pick, and she can not sing, or done any acting before. Yes, she needs to sit back and mourn her Mom for at least six months before deciding to go into the business. I heard her say "I will have to carry on the legacy". She is no way equipped to do so.

HP--PULLEEZE! This is a non-story, not worthy of the space it takes up, but you will get clicks even from skeptical readers like me.

"A source tells TMZ, the 19-year-old feels that she is qualified enough to take on the powerhouse role due to her close relationship with the singer and added if Eazy-E’s son could play his father in a movie, she could also play her mother."

It sounds like that unnamed source has flawed logic and may not be a source with first-hand knowledge. First of all, Eazy-E was not a world-renowned artist as Whitney was, therefore, a movie about his life played where--on cable?

Whitney's biopic would have to be at higher level, that, if done properly, should be comparable to the Ray Charles biopic. That requires proven acting talent. No offense to Bobbi Kristina, but she may not possess the talent to play herself in a movie about her mother's life. We will not know until after her debut in the Tyler Perry sitcom. Then again, that is not exactly a training ground for Oscar-worthy performances.

She is going to have a lot of competition....from me. I better win. I've been singing the body guard song in my car for days now.
