John Mayer, 'Video Games': Singer Covers Lana Del Rey's Hit With Instrumental Version (AUDIO)

LISTEN: John Mayer Covers Lana Del Rey

If you ever had any inclination to hear an acoustic version of Lana Del Rey's "Video Games" without her breathy verses, now's your chance.

Guitar-wielding John Mayer posted a cover of the 2011 track on his Soundcloud recently and it's chock-full of vibrating strums.

"Video Games (dub solo electric) w/Binson Echorec," Mayer posted along with the song.

The typically outspoken musician showed off his famous guitar skills on the three-plus minute cover, but saved the likely strain on his throat by sticking to the instrumental.

The 34-year-old singer canceled the tour for his upcoming album Born and Raised due to damaged vocal cords. Mayer is undergoing intensive treatment for the tissue injury that recently resurfaced after its initial onset last fall.
