The fourth hour of the "Today" show had quite the eventful opening for a Monday morning.
As hosts Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb sat in their usual seats armed with glasses of vino, the women immediately launched into a discussion of the morning's happenings.
As a producer placed Kotb's mic on her dress prior to air, he knocked over the glass of red wine, which shattered in half and spilled all over her. A minute into the morning, Kotb, who was wearing an ivory-colored dress, stood up to show the damage. She also apologized to "Today" style editor Bobbi Thomas, the owner of the now wine-soaked dress.
Following that incident, the two hosts welcomed the smallest puppy in the world, Beyoncé, onto the broadcast. As Gifford and Kotb fawned over the adorable, three-week-old puppies, Gifford examined Beyonce's brother. "Look, it's a little boy with a little teeny wiener!" Gifford said. "How are you!?" she gushed while kissing the puppy.
Needless to say, this might be the most eventful/awkward fourth hour opening, as both moments happened within the first three minutes of the broadcast.
