Tulsa Shooting Suspects Jake England And Alvin Watts Confessed, Police Say

Jake England and Alvin Watts, Tulsa shooting suspects, allegedly confessed to killing five people in Oklahoma on Friday.

TULSA, Okla. — Tulsa police documents say the two suspects arrested in a shooting spree that terrorized the city's black community have both confessed.

The documents given to The Associated Press on Monday say 19-year-old Jake England confessed to shooting three people and 32-year-old Alvin Watts confessed to shooting two.

The shootings early Friday morning left three people dead and two seriously wounded. It's not clear from the affidavit which man shot which victim, but the document says police believe Watts shot two of the three people who died.

All the victims of the shooting spree were black, and police have described the suspects as white.

Police have said one motive for the shootings may have been England's desire to avenge his father's fatal shooting by a black man two years ago.

I agree anytime someone is hurt or worse killed it is a tragedy. But to ignore the role race played here is a bit naive. The victims were targeted specifically because they were black. That makes this a hate crime. Racism is alive and well.

I am not ignoring it. I am just saying we are all human beings. We need to approach the situation as such. Maybe if the media and everyone else would quit reporting what race everyone is,it would cease to matter. It won't happen in my lifetime,I am sure,but one can only hope. I live in Tulsa, I am one half of an interracial couple. I wish there were no "sides".

Any of you heard the part of the confessions where it was Watts that killed two of them and England killed one. Why is everyone concentrating their hate on England only? Also, his best friend from childhood was is black. They interviewed him and he is just devastated by this. There is soooo much of this story that has yet to be played out. Either way, these guys will spend their last bit of life they have left in Big Mac and then they will be no more. Stupid, senseless crime.

Every year we hear this report provided by the FBI telling Americans that violent crime is "way down" from one year to the next, yet every time you go on-line or read a paper it seems it's worse than ever. One thing that never ceases to amaze me is the value we as a society "supposedly" place upon the murderers, rapists and peadophiles, the predators if you will, whose numbers grow every year. There was a time when kidnapping or the murder of a cop meant the death sentence and there was no such thing as 20 years of "appeals" for murderers. Today, the confession of a multiple murderer means 3 meals a day, Cable TV, the finest medical & dental care available and a free College education all paid for by taxpayers. Meanwhile the most violent of these killers will prey upon non-violent prisoners often continuing the same abuses that they were put in jail for!! When a human being loses ( or destroys) the brain matter that is supposed to seperate them from a wild animal, and killing, raping & torture of their fellow humans is done for pleasure, that person should be EXECUTED, not allowed to continue with their life, often being rewarded, even presented with future victims while incarcerated. As a for me and other taxpayers paying billions of dollars a year to keep the scum of the earth, the worse kinds of predators alive is certainly an intolerable use of our money.
