Cars Of The Future You Can Drive Today

With every auto show comes droves of new cars: Some are sleek new spins on traditional models, others showcase a few cutting-edge features, and -- every now and then-- a few blow past convention and offer a look into the future of travel.

Take, for instance, the Terrafugia Transition, a flying car that turned heads with its debut at the New York International Auto Show on April 5. Prior to its unveiling, a prototype of the car completed its first successful flight at Plattsburgh International Airport on March 23, proving just how close we are to meeting a cool car like the Transition on the road (or in the sky).

Meanwhile, Google has been privately testing a "self-driving" Toyota Prius. While Google has offered only a few glimpses at the autonomous vehicle, the tech world is abuzz after seeing what it can do without the help of a driver.

To see what else the tech world and the auto industry are cooking up, take a look at the slideshow of amazing cars of the future that you can drive today. (These aren't just concept designs; they've all been on the road, and several are already for sale.)
