Those of us that were contemporaneous with Trameil know him a ruthless charlatan. His famous phrase was, "So, sue me." He often used the phrase after he had screwed over someone who he knew could not afford to sure him. I despise this man.

Nah, it was great. My fondest computing memories are of my years using the C64.

My fond memories are of my 286sx with 40meg hard drive. 40meg! My flashdrives hold 800 times that today! (I have the hard drive on a shelf still!)

I remember seeing a friend operate the tape drive with his C64. As terrible as it was I wanted one, but I held out for a year or two until the 286sx.

Another friend of mine had a Vic20 and was learning to operate/program it. After weeks he learned enough to get a simple dot to appear on the screen. I have complete respect for all who owned one. But I still think I waited just long enough for squeeze some genuinely easy enough to use utility with my 286 and amber monitor. (I should have kept the whole thing and run it as a clock or something! lol)

Still have my C64, have to take it out to play a game or two in his honor. R.I.P. sir.

:-(

I'm going to go fire up my Amiga 500 now. (Still works!)

But Jack Tramiel was the CEO of Atari when the Amiga came out. The Atari ST was called ST after his son, Sam Tramiel.

It would be more appropriate to fire up a C64, than the Amiga... The Amiga vs AtariST war never ending IMO.
