Feist's 'Bittersweet Melodies' Video Uses Irina Werning's 'Back To The Future' Photographs (NSFW) (VIDEO)

Feist Bittersweet Melodies

It's not often you see a music video without the singer in it. But for Feist's latest Metals video, "Bittersweet Melodies," director Holle Singer ignored Leslie Feist entirely, focusing instead on the many subjects of Argentine photographer Irina Werning's uncanny Back To The Future project. If you've already seen Werning's work, the video is more or less a straight retread. But Werning's collection of old photographs recreated anew by the people who were in them (including one of Billy Bragg and his old punk band Riff Raff re-staging a bus ride) set to Feist's nostalgic lyrics makes for a perfectly lovely, vaguely sad pairing. Check out the video below, which is NSFW due to the grown-up counterparts to shirtless little girls, and head to Werning's site for more Back To The Future photos.

CORRECTION: An earlier version of this story identified the video director as Hollie Singer, instead of Holle Singer.

No apologies are necessary. Its my hero.... W.E.B DuBois. He graduated from Harvard, where he was the first African American to earn a doctorate, he became a professor of history, sociology and economics at Atlanta University. He was an ardent peace activist and advocated nuclear disarmament.

He started the Niagara Movement which gave birth to the NAACP in 1909.
