Mandy Moore's career in the late 1990s was embarrassingly influential on my personal style. I will shamefully admit that I still remember all of the lyrics to her breakout single "Candy," and even tried to emulate her look from the music video. Moore has since abandoned her career as a pop star for acting, and has starred in films such as "A Walk to Remember," "Saved!" and "Because I Said So." Also of note, she surprised many who had written off her interest in music by marrying singer Ryan Adams in 2009.
The fashionable starlet has come a long way from her Britney Spears-esque roots. The first step in her transition from singing to acting was ditching her long brassy blond locks for a short dark brown pixie. Step two? Throwing away the midriff revealing tops and low-slung pants for Hollywood glam gowns.
