Celebrity Grandparents Who Don't Look Like Grandparents

When we hear the word "granny," we can't help thinking of Irene Ryan in "The Beverly Hillbillies," or the Looney Tunes character who co-stars with Tweety Bird and Sylvester the Cat in the shorts from our childhood: tight bun, high-necked cotton dress, little-old-lady voice. Or how about grandpa? We immediately picture Grandpa Zebulon Tyler Walton of the 1970s TV show -- white hair, giant mustache, overalls.

But look at Hollywood today and you get an utterly different vision of grandparents. Here's a slideshow of some of our favorite celebs who defy the conventional image. Vote for your favorite!

Pretty much every one of them easily has the look of a grandparent, just lacks the silver locks. I would say the two who somewhat fit in this list to me had to be Jim Carrey and Priscilla Presley, but you wouldn't mistake them as someone in their 20's as you would on many celebrities active in their 30's.

Becoming a grandparent over the age of 40 seems normal. Becoming a grandparent before age 40 is ... unseemly. Inappropriately young.

This is a pretty dumb article. I mean really... Goldie Hawn is on the list! Saying she doesn't look like a grandmother is like saying Sophia Loren is still sexy. No wonder people in Hollywood are crazy; they read [and believe] articles such as this.

They all look like grandparents and great-grandparents! I remember when John (Cougar) Mellencamp became a grandfather at age 37.. Now that's YOUNG!!

I had my wonderful daughter 2 months before my 20th birthday(yes I was married),she graduated H.S. and made me a first time Grandma 3 months before my 40th birthday and yes she was married...I was the happiest gram in the world and loved when I went to school fuctions, shopping etc. and people would tell me what a beautiful child I had. He was my light for sure. He got killed at 20 yrs. old 2002. To me he is still my light, although I've been blessed with 4 more fantastic grandkids. So I beat all of them out and I looked fantastic! :-)

Uhhh, I thought the article was about celebrity grandparents who don't look like grandparents.

Is it me, or did not everyone of these folks look like they are certainly old enough to be grandparents?

Not to be critical, but Tom Hanks, with all his money and talent really should get a suit that fits him...the one he's wearing makes him not only look grandfarthery, but someone who just ate a big meal and is busting out of his clothes.

I'm confused. Why wouldn't they think I'd guess they were grandparents? They definitely look old enough. It's not like they look like they're in their 20's and have grandchildren. They look OLD, why be surprised they have grandkids?!

I agree. With the exception of maybe Donny Osmond (who still looks great) they ALL look old enough to be grandparents. Imagine what the would really look like with all the Surgery. Really old!!!!
