Rick Santorum vs. Mitt Romney: Former GOP Candidate Took Many Potshots At Presumptive Nominee

04/11/12 01:22 PM ET  AP

WASHINGTON — Some of the things Rick Santorum said about Mitt Romney during the GOP presidential race:

_"Pick any other Republican in the country. (Romney) is the worst Republican in the country to put up against Barack Obama." – March 25, 2012, Franksville, Wis.

_"Conservatives will not trust (Romney), will not rally around him." – Conference call with reporters, March 5, 2012.

_"Are you going to vote for someone that says one thing one day, anything else the next day that's necessary to win? Or are you going to vote for someone you trust?" – Feb. 25, 2012, Troy, Mich.

_"Any time someone challenges Gov. Romney, Gov. Romney goes out and instead of talking about what he's for ... he just simply goes out and attacks and tries to destroy." – Feb. 6, 2012, Rochester, Minn.

_"He's got a lot of money, but he doesn't have the convictions, the authenticity nor the record that is necessary to win this election." – Jan. 17, 2012, South Carolina.

Actually the only thing Rick S. was right about--------Was who/what Romney is! Romney is a Moderate who dodged the Draft an let some one alse take his place on the battle field. Romney has lied at every turn an some folk just calls it politely flip flopping! Romney is the Worst of the Republican Candidates. I would have voted Newt before I voted Romney!

Believe me Rick SAntorum will end up endorsing Mitt the Twit in time for the election no matter what he has said about him. Look at John McCain expressed nothing but contempt for the opportunism and lying of Mitt in 2008 and what he is saying about him now.

Since when has the truth ever gotten in the way of a Republican.

I believe there was some serious Threats/arm Twisting to make Rick S. quit! It's not the first time they have done it, won't be the last! I hope Rick isn't a team player on this.

I agree with Santorum on one point - there is a whole load of artifice around Mitt.

Ricky is clearly the genuine article - genuinely regressive.

That is the nature of a primary, just as it is in an election. Fact is, the Republicans will unite behind the nominee and will turn out to vote. They do not want another 4 years of Obama and his failed Presidency.

That's right--we need to restore the kind of GOP success story like Shrub and Dick.

He'll need to retract these statements, but I don't expect that to happen soon.

RS's predictable endorsement will also take some time. He's seething right now.

Of course they will eventually "kiss 'n make up"......they're both good ole GOP boys......you know, rally round the flay boys.....rah school !
He will claim all sorts of self passionated reasons for his words.......Churchillian heat of the battle stuff........roar of the greasepaint and smell of the crowd verbal frensy.

I can see a book, with obligatory tour, the speakers circuit......perhaps a professorial chair.

I really like Santorum because he has given the Obama team plenty of things to run against Romney Etch A Sketch, Swiss Bank and Car Elevator man. I am still waiting for Romney to take a stand on what Governor Sctt Walker did when he signed a new law repealing his state's Equal Pay Enforcement Act. This shows that some of these republicans are anti-women. It is too late for some of you to keep women down.

I'm looking forward to watching how Rick backtracks all these statements. If he can accomplish that then he should try out for Dancing with the Stars. As a moral Christian he wouldn't have lie now would he? ( wink, wink )

Dancing with the stars would be perfect for Ricky. He could waltz women backwards time and time again.

I admire the fact that Santo hasn't endorsed Romney. He doesn't like the guy and thinks he's inept. Why should he endorse him?

I can't stand Santo's politics, but he doesn't walk in lock step with the GOP bosses.
