Chris Dodd was one of the most corrupt senators with the banking and mortgage industry this country has ever known.. His interest free mortgages on several properties from Countrywide Mortgages for helping pass several laws for them is now legendary.

Time to write the same bill with another name and have another try at sneaking it through.

Christopher Dodd was one of the key architects of the Democratic concept that "Everyone should own a home". The world economy collapsed within years.

Now he's going to fix the internet.

Funny how the Right loves to blame everyone, other than the people that provided the loans to the people AND THEN SPECULATED on those loans. Although Dodd isn't my favorite retired politician, he in no way is responsible for the collapse in the market because he encouraged loans to minorities, etc. Karl Rove loves to put this spin out there.

Several economists have pointed to the Dodd era of HUD, late in Clinton's second term, when all the pressure to write the high-risk loans really came to the forefront.

I believe that was the foundation for Wall Street's attempt to re-package and spread the risk.

Clearly you disagree, but allowing people to qualify for loan payments at 70% or more of their take-home pay was madness, just waiting for a small economic downturn to collapse everything.

Add in his retirement into the lucrative MPAA job, after arguing against such post-retirement influence peddling for others, his support of SOPA in the face of a multitude of expert critics, his questionable political tactics against any and all who oppose him, and what we have here is a problem.

Well, well, well: The sponsors of the Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act (CISPA), a new cybersecurity bill in the House, assured a group of technology journalists and bloggers during a Tuesday morning conference call that their legislation has nothing to do with the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA)

As others have said, Dodd is a professional liar with 30 years of lying experience as a Senator and would say and do anything for those who pay him.

Chris Dodd is a professional Politician thus a professional spinner and PR liar. SOPA is about as dead as the Attack on Women by the GOP. Presently the control of the Internet is being handled by various government agencies in secret and without transparency. The regulators are industry friendly - Cable, Phone, Main stream Entertainment AND (often overlooked) the huge industries - Oil, Gas, Pharma, Insurance, Wall St, Mortgage Companies, Banks, and huge retailers. They want to be protected from the competition of smaller and growing retailers as well as information that might contradict Industry Propaganda. All of these various bills have a really sneaky effect - that the complainer can get a government shut down of a hunk of the internet - a server, an ISP, an entire block of DNS based on only the complaint. Then the issue will be investigated - taking days? Weeks? Months? Probably years of court-like hearings. Well, that would be fine in 1950 but loss of internet access for a retailer like Tom's Shoes or say an organic food company would mean ruin. Microsoft once got in big trouble for WIndows NT because it crashed and took data with it for so many customers. It turned out that being "down" for one week resulted in bankruptcy in 90% of the cases. Dodd has not given up. If he is successful no matter what the final acronym is, it will mean the death of the free internet.

Dodd was foolish trying to slip this nightmare big brother law into the normal legislative process.

Everyone knows that you can easily take away our rights, but slipping it into National Security bills..

This is about as disingenuous as it gets. Basically he is saying "It's okay average Internet user, you won, you beat us, go home now and don't pay attention."
They are backdooring SOPA in on the The Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act (CISPA) and this will allow ISP's to block your access to any website or to the entire Internet itself. This will be legal and at the whim of someone, who say could be a big financial contributor to Chris Dodd.
