Colbert Report's Word 'Whuh-How?' To Help Military Families (VIDEO)

Posted: Updated:

When Stephen Colbert read an article stating that military spouses face an unemployment rate more than three times the national average, he knew he needed to step in and lend a hand.

So he dedicated Wednesday night's "The Word" segment on "The Colbert Report" to his proposed solution. The troops and their families make up only 1% of the US population, and Colbert joked that they're not the same 1% that belongs to his tennis club. So how do we know who in our communities is related to a soldier?

Easy. Colbert suggested special military family uniforms to help us show appreciation to the families of those who serve.

Come on, who doesn't love a baby in aviators?
