George Desdunes Case: When A Hazing Goes Wrong

IN the early-morning hours of that Friday in February 2011, at around 3 a.m., George Desdunes and another Cornell sophomore were sitting on a couch blindfolded, their wrists and ankles bound with zip ties and duct tape.

They had been kidnapped and driven to a town house somewhere on campus, one of the annual hazing rites of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. This particular ritual worked in reverse of most hazing. It was the freshmen pledges who kidnapped older students.

This kid had a lot of potential and was a really nice kid, from what I've heard.
It really seems like SAE has a pretty bad reputation, nationally..

One of my roommates in school pledged a frat and one of the things they made him and his pledge "brothers" do was swim across a little river in central Virginia, in February, and then the rest of the frat dudes peed on them to warm them up.

i was hazed over 30 years ago...remember it like it was yesterday. my sorority in the recent years has been in the news 4 drownings, beatings, abuse, u name it...nothing ever changes.
