What could be better than reading, watching, or talking about The Hunger Games? Well, it might be reading these unbelievably funny Hunger Games comics from Noelle Stevenson of the Tumblr gingerhaze. The 20-year-old illustration major at Maryland Institute College of Art loves to watch movies like "Lord of the Rings" and "X-Men" and then draw comics about them. Her latest comic, a hilarious parody of The Hunger Games, recently went viral -- and we're kind of obsessed with it.

I read the books and watched the movie and it actually wasn't too bad. I wouldn't reccomend a theatre visit but a good rental when it comes out.

I call stuff like this "brain candy". Don't look for anything of signifigant substance, just enjoy it :D

As far as I know, a little brain candy never hurt anyone. ;)

Something can be both entertaining yet have a deeper message.  I'm trying to push a screenplay about the first day of the Christmas rush from the POV of the store employees, and despite its slapstick frathouse humor it's actually an indictment of what we needlessly put ourselves through every December just because it's December.

Very good observation, BlackJAC. There where some very serious undertones concerning government oppression, etc. My son has read (he's 13) all the books and we had a few discussions about what type of society the characters lived in and why things happened as they did. The movie just barely touches on this. Alot of the thoughts and feelings you find in the book was missing from the movie.

I would be very interested in reading your screenplay if you would like to share. I worked for Target when I was a teenager and I tell ya, I wanted to strangle myself during the holiday season LOL.

I like the comic better than the movie. More intelligent.

I've neither seen the movie nor read the book and thanks to this comic I don't have to.

Nice. The comic is better than the movie. It succeeds in it's purpose to get a laugh, where the movie fails to tell a story of any substance at all.

On the contrary, I thought the movie actually did quite a good job of conveying the horror of the Games and the society these poor people have to deal with. Plus, Lawrence as Katniss was exceptional and I could really feel for her and the terrifying situation she was in. I thought the movie did perfect justice to the book, though this comic spoofs it very well too!
