It's only a matter of time before M. Ward gets parodied on SNL's favorite new recurring sketch "Bein' Quirky With Zooey Deschanel." But until then, he's in that rarified sphere of artists who everyone loves unconditionally. Case in point: his visit this week to the KCRW studios, where he forewent the normal duties of a guy on promotional tour for a new album (A Wasteland Companion, which dropped this week) and enraptured a small crowd by playing an old song of his instead.
