Micheal Ledee Guilty: Man Had Mother Molest 9-Year-Old, Watched On Webcam

Micheal Ledee was convicted Wednesday for instructing a woman to molest her 9-year-old daughter while watching via webcam on Yahoo! Messenger.

A New York man was convicted Wednesday of coercing a woman to molest her underage daughter while he watched via a webcam.

Brooklyn resident Micheal Ledee, 29, was found guilty in federal court of conspiracy to sexually exploit a child, sexual exploitation of a child and receipt of child pornography. He faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years in prison and a maximum sentence of 30 years for the conspiracy and sexual exploitation charges, and a mandatory minimum of five years for the child pornography count.

Prosecutors said Ledee used Yahoo! Messenger to direct the molestation and watch the abuse via webcam, according to a press release from the FBI and the United States Attorney's Office in New York.

Court documents preserved the anonymity of the 9-year-old girl, referring to her only with the pseudonym "Jane Doe." However, she took the stand to testify during the three-day trial. Her mother -- who's already serving a 25-year sentence in Washington -- remained unnamed as well.

"We are committed to protecting children from online predators," United States Attorney Lorette E. Lynch said in the release. "Those who sexually exploit children will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law."

The abuse occurred in May 2010, according to Ledee's indictment. Prosecutors would not discuss with The Huffington Post how Ledee knew the mother.

It is known that the girl and her mother are residents of Washington, the Village Voice reported.

Computer forensic experts and a Yahoo! software engineer were also witnesses called by the prosecution.

A date for Ledee's sentencing hasn't been scheduled yet, according to Robert Nardoza, a spokesman from the U.S. Attorney's Office.

Really? How does someone coerce someone to hurt their child.His actions are disgusting but hers incomprehensible!!!! Goes to show how sick this world is! Why is she not mentioned by name? Why does she get anonymity? Hope that child gains love and help for her trauma! That was the ultimate betrayal she had to feel!

I agree that she should not have anonymity and that she is a sick monster. But regardless of whether you want to think of the man as guilty of coercion or not, he watched it. That makes him guilty and I don't feel one bit sorry for him.

I was shaking by the end of the first sentence.
Crying by the second.
And holding my own children on the floor beside me a little tighter by the last.
My heart just breaks for that little girl that lost 2 of the most important things in life: her childhood & the person who brought her into this earth.
There is no greater crime, in my opinion, than a parent abusing their child.
And yet the adults will no doubt receive protection in prison, while this innocent child will have to struggle through the rest of her life with the horrible memory of what her mother did to her to please a stranger on the Internet.

I absolutely agree! After decades of research and testing, there is still NO CURE for pedophilia. Whether one "accidental" moment of it or "just looking and no touching" or 100 proven victims....Nothing works to stop it nor prevent it from happening again. No known therapy, pill, punishment, disgrace or what have you. It least consider putting them on some remote island together...a la "Snake Pliskin..." style.

When you hear of something like this, you want to spend a few hours under running water. Everything evil is involved here. Yet, when you hear of incest, you usually picture a father and daughter liason. However, a mother and nine-year-old daughter engaging in sexual activity really tilts the scales of perversion. Not to mention, performing this atrocity in front of a camera, online!

This woman should consider herself most fortunate, that she only received twenty-five years.

Oh, and another thing, sexual abuse by a mother to a child happens more often than us decent folk would even dare to imagine. Several years ago, I worked for a behavioral health concern. Our clients were children and youth (aged 4-18). Many of them suffered with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Bipolarism, just to name a few. Some of these "disorders" were a direct result of the trauma the child experienced via the physical/sexual abuse. There was one case I'll never forget wherein a girl of 10 was sexually abused by her mother. After several failed attempts by neighbors to keep this child out of harm's way (by 12, she would repeatedly go to the park to have sex with men and boys), DHS enrolled the child into our program. Thank God the child was able to get the on-therapy she needed!

A lot of us here are wondering how the woman (notice I didn't say mother - she does not deserve that title) could have been "forced," "coerced," "threatened," etc., OVER the webcam. Doesn't matter - Thank God the judge/jury didn't buy it AND her buttt is sitting in jail where she belongs!

The Israelites had the right idea about these types of human beings; stone them. While that sounds cruel and backwards, those types of people are like someone with some horrible and contagious disease. Everything this type will come in contact with they will make ill. That little girl’s life, already ruined, has been sent deeper into the abyss of despair. Her future is ruined. She’ll be a drop out from school, be dependent on drugs, and will become involved with another deviant who hates himself and humanity.

Her chances for success in their life will happen if ALL you say goes off without a hitch. The odds that it will occur are not good. Everything must fall into place for that young girl to become normal. To make it work, she will have to want it and not rebel. There is a strong rebellious tendency for people to be "made correct". We see children rebel against their parents who want them to be good citizens. We see juvenile delinquents take great pride in frustrating people who want to see them achieve their destinies as contributing members of society. This young lady will have to want help and not rebel against it.

I have seem many children go through horrific experiences at home and come out strong and healthy in the final reckoning. I believe in the human spirit to overcome adversity and I believe in the Grace of God which brings hope and comfort to the hurt, the sick and the wounded.
