Dick Cheney To Speak At Wyoming GOP Convention

CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Former Vice President Dick Cheney has received last-minute medical clearance to return to his home state and speak at the Wyoming Republican state convention in Cheyenne.

State GOP Chairwoman Tammy Hooper says the speech Saturday will be Cheney's first public engagement since he got a heart transplant three weeks ago.

Cheney had been scheduled to speak at the convention but the transplant surgery canceled those plans. The operation took place in Virginia on March 24.

Cheney is 71 and spent almost two years waiting for a new heart. He has a long history of heart disease including five heart attacks.

Hooper says Wyoming Republicans are thrilled that Cheney will attend the convention. Cheney's daughter, Liz Cheney, is scheduled to give the keynote speech Saturday.

Is this going to happen out of the country. I hope so, then the international court will pick him up...Wouldn't that be nice. He has the gull to come out in public. Maybe the new heart, don't get me wrong, he doesn't have a heart, just a pump from another person. 1000 other people could have used that heart but he told them to go to h*e//.

Cheney was supposed to go to Canada before his transplant surgery, but cancelled. Was he afraid of being arrested, or was there another reason? Like a heads up.....
