Attorney Jennifer Little breaks down as officers take her mugshot after a DUI arrest on Thursday.

The lawyer representing Andrea Sneiderman -- a widow accused of having an affair with the man who murdered her husband -- was arrested on suspicion of DUI, speeding and reckless driving on Thursday.

Attorney Jennifer Little, 33, broke down in tears during her mugshot moment after she allegedly sped down an Atlanta highway at 91 mph while drunk, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.

Little, a former DeKalb County prosecutor, allegedly refused a field and chemical sobriety test. An officer will now have to testify that he or she noticed that Little was driving recklessly and was obviously under the influence.

The lawyer was hired in March by Sneiderman, whose husband Russell was shot dead outside an Atlanta daycare center in November 2010. Witnesses and lawyers are fingering Andrea Sneiderman in that case, claiming that she was involved in an affair with the killer, Hemy Neuman, and knew the details of her husband's death suspiciously early.

Little posted bond shortly after the 12:30 a.m. incident on Thursday. The Journal-Constitution reported that the DUI arrest is not expected to affect her standing in the Georgia Bar Association.

The lawyer may be stumbling around but Andie "my aim is true" Sneidermann is gonna walk on the murder charge and she's displaying the confidence that will intimidate both judge and prosecutor to get her to plead to a less than two year jail stay.

I wish we didn't criminalize low level dui's and first timers necessarily unless they are actually breaking the regular laws in the process. It gives a person a lifetime record and they may not be evil as for some folks a beer or two on an empty stomache can put you over the limit at just the wrong time. Repeat abusers, and power drinkers are a separate issue. But why can we not use a civil code infraction, education classes and better high school defensive driving courses to achieve the same societal benifit. Most people will shape up given a chance. I have no need to ruin lives. Using dui's as the new prohibition, which it is, seems onerous to me. The goal should be to teach responsible drinking, not no drinking, or being constantly afraid of drinking.

1st time DUIs are low-level and are almost always dropped down to a "wet reckless." The fact is though, a 1st time DUI offender can do as much damage as a second or third time DUI offender, so the punishment should be high.

In what state are first time DUIs almost always dropped to a reckless? It is really easy to get a DUI even if the person is not impaired. What do you mean a first DUI can do as much damage as a second or third?

why do we so relish punishing our fellow citizens by destroying their lives over timing a few drinks wrong(I am not defending lushes and repeat driving drunks)? By definition alcohol impairs judgement, so where is the criminal intent? I really don't get the need. A civil infraction system could accomplish the same thing with less lives damaged. Most people will change behavior when they get the message.

What sort of lawyer is she? Does she not realize that the penalty for refusing an FST or chemical test is the same as a DUI? If she at least took the test there would be a chance she would pass and not get any penalty. Now she will be stuck with the same license suspension, fines and insurance rate increases.

she's a criminal defense lawyer--I'm sure she's fully versed in refusal just as I am sure she is fully versed in the fact that a reading on the intoxilyzer when you are caught speeding would place her in an undefendable position on her charge

Just because she is a criminal defense lawyer doesn't mean she is right. Keep in mind she was drunk at the time, so her decision making abilities weren't exactly up to par. The only advantage to what she did is she doesn't get a DUI on her record. But the fines are the same for refusing a breathalyzer.

Is it better to automatically lose your license than taking the breathilyzer?

LAWYERS can do anything and get away with it.
A lawyer who wrecklessly got drunk, seems to me that should affect her practce, just like a Nurse?
11:16 PM on 04/14/2012
Absolutely a good point. In many states, professional boards (docs, nurses, dentists, vets) are notified when you are arrested for DUI. Maybe the state bar feels drinking like a fish is requisite to the practice of law; enough of them do it.
