In honor of Earth Day, the Miami Beach Cinematheque is showing seven series of films during its Wildlife Conservation Film Festival, including "This Is Your Ocean: Sharks" with renowned artists Wyland and Guy Harvey and introducing Emma the Tiger Shark.
Another special event is at Fort Lauderdale's Cinema Paradiso with the screening of "Passannante" with a reception attended by the film's director, musician, and lead actor.
For reggae lovers and those who observe 4.20, O Cinema presents a documentary of Bob Marley as well as a planned dinner-and-a-movie event with Jamaican food.

This French Canadian film is about a elementary classroom suffering from the loss of their favorite teacher. A new Algerian teacher, Balchir Lazhar, comes to replace her and tries to help them through their loss while becoming the new head of the class. The students become close to him, finally meeting a teacher who challenges them to become better, smarter people.. French with English subtitles.
This Is Your Ocean: Sharks

Two esteemed wildlife artists, Wyland and Guy Harvey, and shark expert Jim Abernethy take shark lovers underwater in an effort to preserve the dwindling species. Abernethy introduces everyone to Emma the tiger shark to show the grace and beauty of sharks.

Find out a dark secret in Italy’s history about an anarchist, Giovanni Passannante, and his attempt in 1878 to kill King Umberto I of Savoy. A family that never forgets, the Savoys forced the town that Passannante to change its name from Salvia to Savoia -- which it is still known by today. “Passannante” was a part of the 2011 Gallio Film Festival and is vying for the David di Donatello Award. A reception with the film’s director, musician and lead actor will be in the cinema’s courtyard at 7 p.m.
