It creates an interesting new angle on OCD and obsessive behaviors when filtered through the eyes of the children they impact. On the latest "My Mom Is Obsessed" (Thu., 10 p.m. ET on Discovery Fit & Health), viewers met Cheryl whose obsession is bodybuilding.
When her son broke his arm, she was more concerned that she'd just gained three pounds than with his need for her to stay with him. Her daughter Rachel begged her to stay, but she insisted that if she didn't go to the gym she would be depressed. And in the end, her children couldn't convince her to make them her top priority.
Luckily, through therapy, the family was able to mend and start moving in the right direction. Cheryl is refocused on her children, spending more time with them. They even go rollerblading together, which allows Cheryl to get a workout and spend time with the kids.
