USA Today:

The USA hasn't been this dry in almost five years. Still reeling from last year's devastating drought that led to at least $10 billion in agricultural losses across Texas and the South, the nation is enduring another unusually parched year.

I live squarely in the severe drought area, and I can tell you.......the worst is yet to come. No wonder our military is engaging Africa, which just happens to have humongous underground lakes, while their people are dying of thirst and lack of ag crops due to droughts.......wonder when the wars for water, instead of oil will become noticeable to the uninformed citizens of this country.

We need to balance population with resources, water, food and jobs.

What are the interactive effects of CO2 and phosphorous on plant growth?

What are the interactive effects of CO2 and pathogens on agricultural plants.

As CO2 increases oxygen decreases, and how does oxygen scarity threaten humankind?

In my neck of the woods in Massachusetts, there was hardly any snow this winter and very little rain. Spring has so far been very dry.

I have lived here for most of my life and never felt the air so dry as I have this year.

When I hear other people saying how lucky we were this winter, with little snow, I cringe and wonder how this unusually dry year will play itself out and what will the weather be like in the future.

It would seem many are unable to think beyond the present and in their mind nothing less than a normal, usual weather future will always be the case.

Won't they be surprised.

"I have lived here for most of my life and never felt the air so dry as I have this year."

Right, the last time a weather pattern like this came through America was in 1910.

The spring rains let my area spend about one month out of the danger zone and we, recently, went right back into water use restrictions. It is going to be a long, hot summer, indeed.

No drought is as bad as the government created drought in California's central valley. Radical environmentalists in Sacramento shut off the water supply in order to protect and endangered fish driving thousands of migrant workers into poverty and unemployment.

Such compassion from these liberals.
03:20 PM on 04/13/2012
Nobody with Ronald Reagan as their avatar should ever discuss compassion.

Isn't the very fact that California's central valley is an agricultural powerhouse a function of the big government you conservatives so decry? Without huge dams and diversionary canals, all built at taxpayer expense, there would be NO water there to turn a veritable desert into a cornucopia.

no doubt trace gases are causing this!

the sun..

and it's little puppet the jet stream..

can't touch the Power of CO2

My questions aren't rhetorical.

Are you saying that if the sun and jet stream contribute to Texas drought, greenhouse gases can't be making things even worse?

Record March heat waves/temp across the country, record number twisters/tornadoes in March, warmest Winter in yrs and now drought across the country. Yeah! Global warming/climate change does not exist ONLY in the Koch Brothers, Oil/Gas/Coal companies and the ignorant masses readily manipulated by them vis-a-vis GOP!

Hyperbole is funny, isn't it? The NOAA says that climate change is certainly a factor, but only a small one for the freak weather we are seeing this year.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/noaa-says-record-warmth-_-march-madness-_-was-more-freak-occurrence-than-global-warming/2012/04/02/gIQAUru3qS_story.html
“Climate change was certainly a factor, but it was certainly a minor factor,” Hoerling said.
09:11 AM on 04/14/2012
Just another global warming denier! Let's just see what happens in the next 5 ys we will be all talking about record breaking droughts, heat waves, killers twisters in MARCH, deadlier hurricanes and the enablers of the industrialists will continue to defend them at the detriment of the environment! Hyperbole! Yeah! Say that to the farmers in Texas and OTHER NEW DUST BOWL STATES of the coming decades!
