Mike Huckabee Weighs In On Hilary Rosen Comments

First Posted: 04/15/2012 11:44 am Updated: 06/15/2012 5:12 am

Mediaite:

Mike Huckabee's semi-weekly visit to the weekend Fox & Friends crew today understandably focused primarily on Hilary Rosen and first shot fired in the general election: the claim that Ann Romney "hasn't worked a day in her life." Needless to say, Huckabee did not appear much impressed with the comments, but he did find the Democratic reaction to them shockingly swift, saying, "I've never seen Democrats swim backwards so much."

no sooner do the words leave Huckabees mouth than Romney puts his foot in it.Romney's statement that stay at home mom's on p.a. need the dignity that a job outside the home can only give, kind of makes Rosen look vindicated in the real point she was trying to make.rich, white women can stay home and raise their kids and its considered a job (which it is) but a low or no income woman with kids is denied the subsistence that feeds her kids because she needs to get a job in order to feel self respect.

....and yet Rosen was not wrong. Re-read what she said, without others' mischaracterizations.

the terrible thing is that the GOP "99%" also know the truth but can't and won't admit to it

This from the man who in 1998 signed a full page ad in USA Today saying:

""A wife is to submit herself graciously to the servant leadership of her husband even as the church willingly submits to the headship of Christ."

This man wants to talk about Rosen stating (factually) that Ann Romney has never worked? She hasn't. Not only that with the private jets, the nannies and maids she doesn't have a clue what the work is for a stay at home mom.

Republiicans are such hypocrites. For years now they have called our Presdent a Muslim, a socialist, a communist, accused him of not being born here, have been blatantly racist, attacked the first lady and his children, have negative comments about his dog and did it all while our Commander in Chief fought two wars.

A private citizen criticized Ann Romney another private citizen and the right wing loses their minds.

Righties you have nothing with is why your trying to take this less than nothing comment and turn it into a rallying cry. Pathetic.

The only thing this whole thing accomplishes is proving what many have been saying all along; that the republicans are so out of touch that they will cling to even the most absurd tactics to try and fool some into believing that they are right and that the other side is against them in some paranoid fantasy.

I didn't note any Democrats swimming backward at all--a saw a few closing in like hungry pirhanas.

A Man on God that cannot allow himself to praise those who disagreed with Rosen's statement without him making it a political thing. So, pathetic.
Why does he and others of his screwed up side not see TRUTH & SINCERITY when in front of them? They talk forgiveness and do not really believe in carrying it out. At least not towards their "enemies".

Everyone knows that Rosen spoke to her never having to hold a job to provide for her family. I really abhor all the vitriol ove ra statemnt that was true. The GOP has shown their intention to take away rights gained by women. They would take our right to Vote too as Women do vote Democratic because they champions the underdogs.

True, but at least he won't use vulgarity to attract his audience. At least, people will have to think a little bit to understand his agenda. that will help to ensure a loss of some of that audience since Rush didn't allow his people to think; he did all the thinking necessary and then filled it in their empty heads. Those non-thinkers will be frustrated by Mr. Huckabee and will leave.

Does Mitt Romney deserve some kind of medal for swimming in circles?

Raising kids doesn't count as 'work' when it's accompanied by a bevy of nannies, tutors, butlers, cooks, chauffers, porcelain polishers, and personal shoppers, along with a checking account that has more money than God. The Romney's have utterly no idea what it is to raise children like the 99%, and have no idea how the economy works for the 99%.

Heck no, I'm not crazy. Why? Do I look crazy?

Rosen's poorly chosen words aside, the undeniable fact remains that neither Ann nor anyone else in the Romney family has even the slightest idea what it's like to work some back-breaking, mind-numbing, dehumanizing job, then come home to take care of a family. Poor thing; when Mitt was in graduate school they had to "chip away" at their stock dividends just to survive. Pity the rich!

exactly. This is a classic case of the the best defense is a good offense. They couldn't defend their life of leisure and privilege over that of real working Americans so that jumped on Rosen to justify that lifestyle. And the trolls ate it up!
